Ahead of its new Android P launch on Google Pixel smartphones, the company is also working on tweaking its search bar on the mobile version of its website.

What changes are Google bringing to search bar?

Google is reportedly planning to bring a change in the appearance of the search bar on the mobile site. The search giant was spotted testing the new UI and the biggest change is the inclusion of a rounded search bar. Plus, the mobile site is seen with no address bar on the top, maximizing screen space to let the users see more search results.

As seen on various screenshots, the area replacing the previous address bar will be utilized by the Google Doodle for that day. As for the new address bar, it appears to be on the bottom, making it very convenient for the users to type in the required URL.

Just like the search bar on the Pixel launcher, the new search bar will appear curvy on the edges. Google is also reshaping the touch bar for a more aesthetic look. The latest UI changes also include a colorful ‘G’ logo on the left of the search bar too.

Google has not yet commented on when the revamped, rounded search bar will be rolling out on the mobile site. But for all we know, the company is bringing it in sync with the search bar as seen in the Pixel launcher. It is perceived that Google might be making a wider roll out in the coming days or during Google IO 2018 conference for developers.
